R. Paul and Ora M. Campbell Fund

Establishing a culture of philanthropy in Centre County

Story of Fund

Paul and ora campbell

The Campbells established this fund through a bequest in the will of Judge R. Paul Campbell, who was the driving force behind the establishment of Centre Foundation.  Both Paul and Ora were intensely involved with the community.  Paul founded the Centre County Youth Services Bureau and was active in numerous other charitable and civic organizations.  Ora worked with the American Red Cross Bloodmobile for 30 years and with the Centre County United Way during its formation.  The distributions from this discretionary fund will continue to enhance the quality of life for residents of Centre County through gifts that support our nonprofit agencies and programs.

How Does it Help?

When wealth is centralized, the people are dispersed. When wealth is distributed, the people are brought together.

Centre Foundation discretionary funds are distributed through our competitive grants process to meet the changing needs of the Centre County residents.  In a unique role as philanthropic leaders of the community, foundation board members, who represent all areas and people of the County, and the knowledgeable professional staff, are uniquely equipped to understand the changing needs of the community, and focus grants where they can make the most impact over the years.
