Art Alliance of Central PA Fund

Supporting Visual Arts in Central Pennsylvania

Story of Fund

Art alliance

This fund was established through a bequest by Joan Lampman, whose unwavering dedication to the arts and service to the Art Alliance for 25 years contributed greatly to the organization. Joan served for several terms on the Art Alliance Board of Directors as Recording Secretary and as editor of our newsletter, The Dispatch.  She was a classically trained artist and experimented with a variety of media. Joan exhibited her drawings, encaustics, collages and imaginative watercolors - often produced in collaboration with other artists - at the Art Alliance and other local venues. The Art Alliance is honored that Joan so thoughtfully left this generous bequest to this wonderful community organization.

How Does it Help?

Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.

The Art Alliance has operated out of two rooms in two separate, aging buildings in Lemont for nearly 50 years, hosting hundreds of art classes for children and adults, summer camps, art exhibits, meetings, and more. Joan recognized the need for a larger space so the mission of promoting the visual arts in our community through classes, exhibitions, and outreach can be more readily filled. The Art Alliance will work with community supporters to continue to grow this fund and find a larger home where the arts can be brought to even more Central Pennsylvanian residents.
