For the second year in a row, the Hamer Foundation has donated $100,000 to the Centre Gives stretch pool. This generous gift doubles the available pool to a total of $200,000.
“We could not be more grateful for the Hamer Foundation’s support of our charitable community once again,” explained Molly Kunkel, Centre Foundation’s Executive Director. “Thanks to this truly visionary gift, donors’ dollars will now be stretched even further, allowing local nonprofits to have an even greater impact in Centre County.”
Since 2012, Centre Foundation has provided an annual $100,000 stretch pool. The more money an organization raises, the greater the portion of the stretch pool that organization will receive. With the $200,000 stretch pool in 2017, gifts were stretched an average of 15%.
“In addition to striving for the stretch pool, organizations and donors also enjoy competing for the $25,000 in prizes that are offered throughout the event,” said Kunkel. “If you are interested in sponsoring a prize for this year’s Centre Gives, please contact our office. Prize sponsorship levels range from $500 to $5,000.”
Since Centre Gives began in 2012, over $5.4 million has been invested in our local nonprofits. Community members’ generous gifts have supported local nonprofits working in the areas of arts, animals, education, environment, and health & social services.
